Speakers

The heart of the Sneaker Soiree is the stories. You'll hear from inspiring voices from our GOTR family - individuals who have experienced firsthand the joy, confidence, and limitless potential our program creates. These testimonials will remind you why this work matters and how your support changes lives.

Julie Haas
Julie Haas has served as a Girls on the Run coach for 11 seasons, drawn in from the very beginning by the program's power to help girls care for themselves physically and emotionally. As a parent of two daughters who participated in the program, Julie experienced firsthand how GOTR's lessons extend beyond the girls themselves - shaping the way families connect and communicate. One of her most meaningful moments has been watching both daughters return as junior coaches, a true full-circle reflection of the program's lasting impact. Season after season, her favorite moment remains the 5K finish line, where every girl crosses beaming with pride and the confidence of knowing how much she has to celebrate.
Lilly Haas
Lilly participated in Girls on the Run for six seasons. She credits the program with playing a meaningful role in shaping who she is today. GOTR taught her to tap into her own "star power" - staying confident, making positive choices, and lifting others up - values she carried into her role as a junior coach and now into adulthood. Giving back to younger girls and watching them discover their own strength and confidence has been one of the most rewarding experiences of her journey with the program. Her favorite memory is the practice 5K, a moment that captured everything Girls on the Run is about: encouragement, energy, and the joy of doing it together.
Sophia Haas
Sophia’s Girls on the Run journey began in 3rd grade and says the experience was made even more special by having her mom as her coach. The lessons she carried out of those seasons - confidence, kindness, teamwork, and the importance of believing in yourself - stayed with her long after crossing the finish line. Now entering her senior year in high school and serving as a junior coach, Sophia finds deep meaning in helping younger girls build the same confidence and joy she discovered in the program. Watching friendships bloom, mentoring her girls through challenges, and celebrating together at the 5K has brought her GOTR experience full circle in the most rewarding way.
